Albion boss Micky Adams has urged his players to "go for it" as they try to clinch promotion at Plymouth on Saturday.

Victory at Home Park will make sure the Seagulls are in the Second Division next season if two other results also go their way.

Hartlepool must lose at home to Hull and Rochdale fail to win at Macclesfield.

Adams warned: "Plymouth is a very difficult place to go and play. I have not enjoyed too many happy times down there, but we are all looking forward to it.

"I am not worried about what Hartlepool or anyone else are doing. We are not there yet.

"We have still got to work for it. Plymouth won't roll over and die, as Lincoln didn't on Tuesday, so we have got to put our foot down on the pedal and go for it.

"I will maybe rotate the squad a little bit and see if some fresh legs can get another decent result."

Adams was given a double boost yesterday when Lee Steele and Matthew Wicks came through a reserve outing at Cheltenham.

Albion could be roared on by almost 2,000 fans. They were allocated 1,870 tickets for the trip to Devon and about 700 were still left yesterday morning.

But the ticket office reported brisk business after Tuesday's 2-0 home win over Lincoln opened up the possibility of an early promotion party. Away scheme members have until 4pm today to claim a ticket.

Skipper Paul Rogers has followed in his manager's footsteps by setting his sights on Albion's first title since 1964-65.

The Seagulls are four points behind Chesterfield with a game in hand and the Spireites have to come to Withdean on May 1.

Rogers wants to catch them irrespective of any punishment hanging over the leaders for alleged financial irregularities.

"The championship is what we are looking at once we are assured of promotion," Rogers said. "We want to win it on merit."
