In choosing a new date for an election, the Government has placed itself between a rock and a hard place.

While going to the country at this time of crisis in agriculture is increasingly unpopular with the electorate, doing so in early June is only a few days before the temporary tax reduction on petrol is to be removed again, on June 14.

I wonder what it will go up to this time?

Why is the Government rushing to hold an election a year before it needs to? What does it know that we do not?
