A woman has been jailed for 14 months for letting an East Sussex internet chatroom user have sex with a schoolgirl.

The 30-year-old man travelled from Hastings to meet defendant Angela Sisson in Tyneside where he had underage sex with the teenager. The pair had previously enjoyed lengthy "cyber chats" over the Internet.

Sisson, of Byker, Newcastle, met married father-of-three Andrew Mandefield, of Cotswold Close, Hastings, through another man with whom she had "cybersex".

Mandefield and his friend ended up travelling to Newcastle to meet her and the girl, Teesside Crown Court heard.

Mandefield and the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had sex on two occasions while Sisson did nothing to prevent it happening.

Mr Justice Henriques told Sisson: "You obtained a perverted pleasure from knowing what was going on. You were the principal corrupting influence."

During a hearing at Newcastle Crown Court last month, Sisson admitted allowing premises to be used for unlawful sexual intercourse with a female under the age of 16 in October 2000.

At the same time, Mandefield admitted to two counts of sexual intercourse with a girl under 16 and one charge of indecent assault.

He was jailed for nine months and placed on the sex offenders register for ten years.
