I heartily agree with the articles regarding travellers (Argus, April 4).

The police don't want to know and the council is completely disregarding the wishes of the ratepayers it represents: It totally ignores us.

I would suggest that when the local elections are held, we use our votes to elect a council that does represent the people of Brighton and Hove and get rid of these so-called travellers who create problems.

If ordinary ratepayers withhold their council taxes, I agree we might possibly get something done.

They have caravans and vans etc. next door to the police offices in Hollingbury where they cut the locks and chains to get in. Isn't this breaking and entering, or trespassing?

Every time they are moved they should be escorted out of the county and fined if they return and break into any property.

What rights do they have? They don't have to pay rates and continually flout the law. It is understandable that the ordinary tax and ratepayers are totally fed up with a council that continually allows travellers to trespass.
