Whoever planned, designed and authorised the "Mini Dome" market canopy for the Open Market in Brighton should acknowledge that it is totally unacceptable for this market and replace it with a new conventional tiled roof.

This market should then be the focal point of London Road shopping; expanded and developed properly, promoted and brought into line with markets in other cities, such as in London and Leicester.

The London Road market could be seen as an additional attraction to the greatly improved seafront as, after all, it is not that far in distance.

Markets can be big shopping and tourist attractions and some continental cities actually promote trips to their markets, as anyone reading the Argus travel page can see.

Why not make it a tourist attraction for this city?
