Albion ace Bobby Zamora is back in contention for Saturday's trip to relegation-haunted Halifax and should now be available for the rest of the promotion run-in.

Influential defender Danny Cullip is also in the squad after missing the last two matches.

Zamora sustained hand and ankle injuries after scoring his 25th goal of the season against Mansfield at Withdean last Saturday.

A broken finger requires surgery and on Monday boss Micky Adams ruled him out of both the visit to Rochdale the following night and the Halifax clash.

Zamora's ankle has improved since then and he will wear a protective cast so that the finger operation can be postponed.

Adams revealed today: "Bobby's ankle has responded to treatment. He will travel and we will see if there is any adverse reaction before making a decision about him. The hand won't be a problem because we've had a light plaster cast made for him.

"We have spoken to the surgeon again and he is quite happy to leave it until the end of the season."

Cullip damaged elbow and ankle ligaments in the 2-2 draw at Hartlepool. Adams said: "He has responded very well and will train tomorrow. We will then assess him on Saturday morning."

Albion have triumphed in their fixture row with title rivals Chesterfield. The Withdean showdown between the top two will take place on Tuesday May 1 (7.45).

The Argus exclusively revealed on Monday that the clubs were at loggerheads over a new date for the game postponed on March 24.

Chesterfield wanted it played in the penultimate week of the season, commencing April 23. Albion boss Micky Adams, concerned about the effects of a long trip to Carlisle on April 21, preferred the final week of the campaign and the Football League have ruled in his favour.
