Richie Reynolds saw his Pagham side step up the title pressure, then revealed: "I might quit at the end of the season."

Reynolds was outraged by the 44th minute dismissal of teenager Danny Horrill as his Lions won a County League thriller last night.

He said: "I'm in football to enjoy it and I didn't enjoy that. The referee ruined it.

"Danny got the ball when he was sent off and the linesman saw it but the ref didn't speak to him. Then he gave handball when the ball struck the defender's shoulder from point blank range.

"Referees get worse every week. This may be my last season because I am fed up with it."

Horrill was sent off by Martin Savage after a challenge on the outstanding Nick Flint with his side 3-2 up approaching half time.

Lee Stevens, John Oliver and Ashley Edwards put Pagham in charge against the YM side which had Barrie Westgate dismissed for a second bookable offence on just 20 minutes.

Phil Churchill and Lee Butcher kept the visitors in the game and they were level on 53 minutes when Matt Osbourne was adjudged to have handled and James Bird thrashed home the penalty.

They then wasted chances to go ahead and were punished by Stevens' classy 83rd minute winner.

YM boss John Suter backed the referee on both sendings off and added: "We worked hard and deserved a draw."
