Deadly Dean Wordsworth scored Crawley's extra time winner as they beat King's Lynn 3-2 to reach the final of the Dr Martens League Cup.

Town thought they had already done enough to book their place in the final for the first time after going 2-1 up through late first half goals by Dave Powell and Danny Carroll.

But the battling Linnets equalised on 77 minutes with a bizarre goal by skipper Dave Robinson, which proved enough to force a further 30 minutes of extra time.

Despite a promising start Crawley fell behind after 35 minutes when Lynn's former Albion striker Zeke Rowe finally netted after two quick fire saves by Reds goalkeeper Andy Little.

However, Powell levelled three minutes later from a goalmouth scramble and Carroll made it 2-1 on 42 minutes when he tapped home from close range.

After King's Lynn had levelled, Little kept his side in the match with a brilliant double save in injury time.

The winner came on 97 minutes with a powerful striker from Wordsworth from outside the area to beat the lunging dive of Chuck Martini on 97 minutes.

Hastings Town extended their unbeaten run in the Dr Martens eastern division to 17 games with a gripping 2-2 draw at home to leaders Chelmsford City.

The visitors were the first to strike on 17 minutes when Steve Portway scored with a delicate finish.

Danny Simmonds almost levelled in Town's very next attack but his point blank header was foiled by a superb save.

Hastings finally got on the scoresheet around the hour mark with two goals in as many minutes.

Paul Jones claimed the first when he held off a couple of defenders before drilling a low shot into the net.

Stuart Myall made it 2-1 soon after with a thunderous volley from a partially cleared corner.

Just when it seemed Hastings were about to celebrate a famous win, Chelmsford hit back through Gary Bennett.

St Leonards inched a little closer to Dr Martens League safety with a point at fellow-strugglers Spalding.

Danny Fletcher, having seen his 30th minute volley hit both posts before being hacked clear, finally put Saints ahead from the resulting corner.

It remained that way until 16 minutes from time when substitute Steve Dennis scrambled home an equaliser.
