A trouble-hit swimming pool will not reopen in time for the Easter break, Mid Sussex Council has admitted.
Work is continuing at the Aztec leisure pool at the £13.5 million Triangle Leisure Centre in Burgess Hill, which was closed on February 24.
Staff noticed water leaking from the pool after an underground pipe burst. Workmen discovered a second burst pipe and then found loose tiles which are being re-laid and replaced.
Mid Sussex District Council is seeking compensation from the main contractor Miller Construction.
The council says it is planning a reopening celebration in the near future but no date has been fixed.
The leisure centre, which was opened by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh two years ago, has a competition pool which is open and places are available on a range of swimming courses.
