Play and Learn with Skipper and Skeeto takes the naive charm and innocence of the cartoon characters and converts it nicely into an interactive learning experience.

It's an experience that really works at a price both acceptable and affordable.

The software tells about Skipper and Skeeto's quest to find the fairy's lost magic wand and help her escape from the wicked witch.

The story is set in the fabulous Paradise Park (maybe the one in Newhaven) and is filled with bright graphics and delightful drawings.

Although advertised as suitable for children aged from four to 12, I suspect the average 12-year-old would turn their nose up in favour of something with a bit more excitement or violence.

I like Skipper and Skeeto as they are - almost wimpish in their avoidance of confrontation.

The software takes the child through a process of discovery where they try to find more than 40 items hidden in the various screens.

There are 37 char-acters to meet, lots of video clips and almost 50 separate places to explore. This is not a five-minutes-to-finish game and will keep children amused and entertained for ages.

The package has sections that concentrate on numbers, spelling, time, maths, memory and even has a hidden animals game which is great fun for the first five minutes.

There is also a music game where the player has to match the instrument to the sound it makes, in which the potential for being silly with amusing noises is immense.
