A woman had to be cut out of her vehicle after a pile-up in Angmering yesterday.
One driver is thought to have been overtaking two other cars when it was involved in a head-on collision with a fourth.
The accident happened in Water Lane, Angmering. The trapped woman was driving a Ford Escort. She suffered minor injuries and was taken to Worthing Hospital.
Other cars involved included a Rover 216 and a Vauxhall Corsa. No one else was hurt.
Water Lane was blocked for almost an hour after the crash as police and a crew from East Preston Fire Station dealt with the aftermath.
Jon Mays, commander at East Preston Fire Station, said: "It was very lucky that no one else was injured."
