Lewes have signed Conor McCurdy, who was released by Albion this week.

The 19-year-old midfield ace was expected to sign for the Rooks yesterday afternoon after coming to the end of his three-year scholarship with Albion.

Delighted manager Jimmy Quinn said: "Conor will be with us for six weeks and during that six weeks we will do our best to promote him into a higher standard team."

Lewes missed out on signing Andrew Beech, who was released by Albion at the same time as McCurdy. Beech had talks with Quinn this week but instead chose to join Worthing.

However, the Rooks have signed German goalkeeper Bjoern Meyer as cover for Florian Ludewig.

Strangely, the 25-year-old stopper has never played football at any level but has impressed during games for Sussex University recently.

Lewes were due to meet Corinthian Casuals today in the first of four games in six days. They visit Horsham for a cup tie on Monday, entertain Epsom and Ewell in the league on Tuesday and then travel to Hornchurch for another Division Three match on Thursday.
