Converged learning will be the focus of a media event in Brighton.
Wired Sussex, the University of Brighton and the Society for Screen-based Learning have combined forces with the BBC to present an evening dedicated to the latest developments in online learning.
George Auckland, head of development at the BBC's innovation unit, and Jon Cardus, BBC interactive education adviser, will speak about the corporation's plans for online learning.
Mr Auckland said: "The potential for digital media in education alone is awe inspiring."
The pair will look at new approaches to learning in the home or workplace through BBC initiatives such as Learning Journeys and Webwise.
Donald Clark, managing director of Brighton-based EPIC, will also be speaking about developments for converged learning in Sussex.
James Shanahan, Wired Sussex web site manager, said: "This event is important for anyone involved in promoting learning and training, whether in formal education, in a workplace setting, in a learning centre or in the home.
"We welcome people to come and meet key members of the BBC team, network with the other participants and find out more about how to develop the delivery of learning or training strategies."
The event is next Monday, between 5 to 9 pm, at the Sallis Benney Theatre in Brighton. It costs £10 (with a discount for Wired Sussex members and education representatives).
