During the mains gas works in recent weeks in Rottingdean, the morning traffic from Peacehaven and Newhaven flowed freely into Brighton or via Wilson Avenue for the A27. Bliss.
So why, now it's finished, is the traffic back to crawling pace with the usual rat-run along Arundel Road and Telscombe?
From Peacehaven to Brighton by car can take 55 minutes or by bus one hour and 10 minutes. Saltdean and Peacehaven have had a raw deal for years. Can't anyone sort this out?
We need a link road to the A27 desperately. The choice of Rottingdean-Woodingdean-Falmer and Piddinghoe-Lewes are both bad routes but what other choice do we have?
At the very least, change the thinking on the traffic lights at Rottingdean, because once you get past there the road is clear.
