Andy Crosby has urged Albion's travelling army to get behind the promotion push.

The big stopper's appeal follows criticism by boss Micky Adams of fans who booed Albion off at Withdean after last Saturday's 1-1 draw against lowly York.

The Seagulls will have 3,000 supporters at Brisbane Road on Saturday for the crunch clash against Leyton Orient. Crosby believes they have a big part to play as Albion attempt to maintain or increase their seven point cushion over the O's.

"Three thousand fans for an away game is something new to me," said Crosby. It's a big game and the important thing is not to lose it so that Orient don't close the gap.

"The fans were obviously frustrated last Saturday, but not as much as the players. We all know we didn't play well, but we are third in the table. How the season finishes is in our own hands and we need their support."

Boss Micky Adams is considering a revised role for regular rightback Paul Watson at Brisbane Road.

Nathan Jones is widely expected to replace the suspended Kerry Mayo at leftback, but Adams has revealed he may instead switch the naturally left-footed Watson to the other flank.

The versatile Steve Melton and rookie centre half Adam Virgo also come into the defensive equation, with Adams refusing to rule out a return to the back five he controversially re-introduced for last month's defeat at Cheltenham.

Meanwhile, striker Lee Steele gets a chance to prove he has regained peak fitness for the reserves against Adams' old club Fulham at Worthing tonight from 7.00.

Transfer-listed Darren Freeman also plays. He missed Monday's 2-0 win at Bristol City with a heavy cold.

Albion Reserves: Cartwright; Davis, Virgo, Saroya, Mayo, Freeman, Johnson, Wilkinson, Thomas, Steele, Ramsay.
