Worthing have now gone eight league and cup games without a win following their disappointing exit from the Ryman League Cup at the hands of Northwood.
Rebels' 2-0 second round defeat at Woodside Road means Sammy Donnelly's side have only won two of their last 11 home games going back 16 weeks.
A crowd of just 94 witnessed Worthing's latest setback and they are now out of all cup competitions. Rebels failed to make the most of a promising start and Spencer Mintram was denied early on before Gary Green failed to beat keeper Paul Riordan when put through by Marc Rice.
Rice shot just over from 20-yards on 28 minutes and Paul Kennett had a header saved eight minutes later, but Northwood took the lead on 42 minutes through Chris Gell who fired home from just outside the area.
Worthing keeper Lee Preston twice denied Lawrence Yaku either side of the interval and Rebels boss Donnelly threw on Simon Funnell and Ben Andrews on 54 minutes in place of Lee Cox and Lee Weston in an effort to spark his troops.
But Worthing had Green, Rice and Ben Carrington all cautioned as they became more and more frustrated, and Andy Cook should have put Northwood further ahead when well placed on the hour.
Worthing's fate was sealed 11 minutes from time when Steve Haye converted from close in. Rebels' winless run has seen them score only seven goals in the last eight games, and their last victory was by a single goal against Walton and Hersham.
