Pre-election propaganda seems to have commenced with a mail shot which includes a personal letter from my friend, the Prime Minister, and a copy of his mate's, the Kemp Town News.

My friend mentions the Tories ten times in his letter so he must have a repetitive itch, nevertheless I am happy to find he has given us a couple of hundred pounds for the gas-man and a free TV licence because he knows I am over 75, though I would much rather he had put this money towards a better weekly handout for my comrades who have reached 65.

I am puzzled that he tells me there are 10,000 more nurses, when it states on the front page of the Kemp Town News there are 20,000 more nurses. Still, what does a few thousand matter when all these facts and figures are useless anyway as it is not possible for me to ascertain whether or not they are correct.

Lastly, I am upset that my friend and the Kemp Town News made no reference to his particular desire to place our country's finances with a bank across the English Channel, which deals in the infamous Eurodollar.

None of my other friends agree with this proposal and we think the silence on this matter belies his sincerity. l am sure the loss of such a fickle friend will not be noticed.
