What is Simon Battle talking about (December 21)?
Russell Hicks a "right- wing extremist"? What absolute tosh! He is a remarkable person who has the guts to criticise some of the truly daft ideas of Brighton and Hove Council. Some of his views would be considered left wing.
And whether he lives in Kemp Town or Timbuktu has no bearing on his good ideas for electric trams for Brighton and Hove to reduce pollution, or his outspoken criticism of the council's dealings with big property developers.
If Mr Battle did his homework, he would find Mr Hicks is refreshingly apolitical and has criticised Tory inaction as much as some of New Labour's wrong turnings.
