An hour and 15 minutes' wait for a Hackney taxi at midnight from the centre of Brighton on a Friday is not acceptable. The service is rapidly deteriorating.
If the Hackney operators are unwilling to provide a satisfactory service, now is the time to deregulate the closed shop and include the private hire operators for the benefit of customers.
Alternatively, perhaps Roger French would consider extending his night bus services on Fridays and Saturdays to include Route 7.
