St Peter's, Brighton's parish church, is said to be crumbling away as fast as congregations are melting away.
If a radical solution is sought to preserve the building itself why not think truly radically and present St Peter's as a gift to one of the more vibrant and relevant religions of today, such as the Muslim, Buddhist or Sikh faiths.
Such a gift would do much for racial harmony here while preserving the building. I am sure whoever took over the building could be persuaded to keep a small corner of it open for those few Christians who felt the need to worship there.
