Two women were threatened with a meat cleaver and a knife during a post office robbery.
Two men entered the shop in Elm Grove, Brighton, at 9.15pm yesterday, waved weapons at the two women assistants, aged 29 and 47, and grabbed £50 from the till.
They ran off, possibly down Bonchurch Road, and police today appealed for witnesses.
Both offenders were white, slim, about 5ft 8in tall and in their 20s. One had a Liverpool accent.
One wore a black and white scarf round his face and a dark Adidas baseball cap, and carried the meat cleaver.
The second man wore a beige hooded jacket and held the knife.
Detective Sergeant Dobs O'Brien, heading the investigation, said: "This nasty incident left two victims in shock, and all for a relatively small amount of cash."
