The ideal gift for gamers and home cinema buffs this Christmas just has to be the amazing Olympus Eye-Trek multi-media glasses.

Wearing the Eye-Trek is like watching a 52in TV from 6ft away and believe me, DVD horror films have never been quite this scary before.

The lightweight (85g) Eye-Trek can be plugged directly into a PlayStation 2 but it is also compatible with most other consoles.

It also works with most DVD and video players to play back your favourite movies and comes with onboard stereo earphones and a hand-held controller complete with cables and AC adapter.

My favourite feature has to be the security option which allows a user to program in a personalised pass code.

The amazing LCD display is only functional after the correct code has been entered so unauthorised" people too tight to shell out the money for their own set of Eye-Trek now haven't got a hope of using mine. Ha!

Although I have only had a very short time to get to know the Eye-Trek, it would seem that Olympus have created a really super piece of kit.

The Eye-Trek certainly isn't cheap but for anyone who travels extensively, enjoys quality technology or doesn't want to spend the money on a decent- sized widescreen TV or LCD projector, the Eye-Trek offers a way to see giant images for a fraction of the cost of conventional technology.
