A sneak thief grabbed hundreds of pounds from a Post Office in Portslade today.
The offender went into the Southern Cross shop in Trafalgar Road at about 11am.
He waited until the assistant was distracted by customers and walked to the rear Post Office counter.
He reached round to the till and grabbed a bundle of notes, then fled.
Police were searching the area this afternoon. The offender was about 25, thin, and wore a cream fleece jacket, light-coloured jeans, blue Adidas trainers and a blue baseball cap. He carried a blue JD Sports plastic bag.
