It seems odd at a time the Government is actively encouraging people to reduce the use of their cars, the local bus company has increased its fares for the park and ride service from Withdean Stadium.
This particular example of unconnected policies is all the more flawed as the return fare for this important service has increased massively from £1.20 to £2.
Although children are still entitled to travel free, surely this will persuade many couples to resort to their car and once again clog up the town.
This is particularly relevant now we are into the Christmas shopping period.
