It was a familiar sight in Brighton during the Sixties but the scooter has been out of fashion and favour for a couple of decades.

All that has changed and the scooter is now the trendiest form of transport, even getting the rich and famous around town.

Alan Horwell, owner of Scooter Store International, chose Brighton as the home for his second store.

Pop idol Robbie Williams and "naked" chef Jamie Oliver, bought their scooters from Alan's first store in London.

The Brighton store in Beaconsfield Road is packed with scooters and accessories.

Alan said: "People are fed up with sitting in traffic jams and not being able to park. They are looking for an alternative way to get around town.

"Scooters are becoming a very fashionable again and they have the added benefit of being practical, economical and efficient."

The store is open seven days a week.
