Former soldier Joanna Stephanie White wore a floral-patterned dress and carried a gold cardboard crown and a collection of soft toys into court today.
He appeared in court charged with intentionally causing racially aggravated harassment, alarm or distress.
The bearded 28-year-old - formerly known as Gerald - also sported a child's pink plastic umbrella and a pair of multi-coloured holdalls during the five-minute hearing at Southwark Crown Court, London.
White, of Earl Street, Hastings, who denies committing the offence against Richard Rhoder last August, was addressed as Joanna and told his case would be listed for the week started December 4.
He was granted bail.
