A Brighton man has appeared in court charged with attempting to steal diamonds from the Millennium Dome.
Kevin Meredith, 34, a charter skipper of Auckland Drive, was remanded in custody last week.
He appeared before Belmarsh magistrates in London today to apply for bail.
Meredith is charged, along with eight others, with attempting to steal the De Beers Millennium Jewels, worth more than £250 million, from the Dome at Greenwich, London.
He appeared in court along with Wayne Taylor, 35, of Tonbridge, Kent, who faces the same charge.
Both men were remanded in custody and consented not to reappear at the court until December 7.
Seven other men charged in connection with the same alleged offence were remanded in custody on Friday.
