Albion manager Micky Adams is predicting there is more to come from his rapidly improving team.

Saturday's convincing 3-0 victory against Cheltenham at Withdean stretched the Seagulls' unbeaten run to five games and has lifted them to sixth in the table.

Adams said: "I think there's more to come. I am delighted for everybody connected with the club that we are at long last showing our true potential.

"It's a long season and you don't get carried away when the sun shines at Southend and you lose 2-0.

"Obviously I am pleased, although we're not getting carried away now either.

"We have lost three games this season and people were writing us off. If they do that it will be at their peril."

Second half goals by Matthew Wicks, Paul Watson (penalty) and Bobby Zamora made it ten points from the last 12.

Watson had another penalty saved by former Seagull Steve Book.

The turning point came just before Wicks headed Albion in front. Referee Mike North reversed his decision to award Cheltenham a penalty for a foul by goalkeeper Mark Cartwright on Martin Devaney after consulting his linesman.

Adams admitted: "Games can change for or against you with decisions like that.

"I saw the linesman flag and I thought it was handball. Mark told me he pulled him (Devaney) back to get hold of the ball."

Wicks has now nodded two goals in three games since joining Albion on a month's loan from Peterborough.

"It's just a case of being in the right place at the right time," he said. "The main thing is the team getting the results we have deserved."

Albion have a couple of injury concerns ahead of Saturday's trip to fourth-bottom York. Richard Carpenter (ankle) and Nathan Jones (back) both went off in the second half.
