Two goals from Dean Wordsworth helped Crawley fight back from a goal behind to gain a convincing premier victory over fourth-placed Salisbury at the Broadfield Stadium.

Further strikes by Danny Carroll, Mark Hynes and Nigel Brake saw the home side pick up a win that looked unlikely after a scrappy first-half performance.

Crawley manager Billy Smith said: "At half-time I couldn't see us going on to win by that margin.

"I think once the second goal went in, their heads dropped and, in the end, we went on to win it quite comfortably."

Salisbury settled quickest and Reds goalkeeper Andy Little had to save from Jamie Waters early on.

After ten minutes, Carroll had a goal ruled out when he was adjudged to have fouled before heading home Wordsworth's free-kick.

The visitors took the lead when Paul Sales volleyed in Tyrone Bowers' right-wing cross in the 38th minute.

Reds levelled right on half-timewhen Carroll found space and cracked a superb 20-yard shot past Simpkins in the City goal.

Midway through the second half, Crawley's pressure paid off when Wordsworth raced through and beat Simpkins for a 2-1 lead.

Reds wrapped the match up ten minutes from time after Hynes was left with a simple finish.

Goals by Wordsworth and Brake ensured an emphatic home win.

Crawley will look to continue their excellent form when visit Dorchester in another premier division clash tomorrow evening.
