Crawley got their home Dr Martens Premier campaign off to a flyer when they beat Dorchester 1-0 last night.

But it needed a superb 88th minute strike from Matt Woolf to ease their frustration.

Woolf lined up a free-kick 30 yards out and right-footed, crashed the ball in via the crossbar for a superb winner.

Hastings Town slumped to a surprise 2-0 defeat at home to Erith and Belvedere in the Eastern division.

Two goals in six minutes early in the second half secured the points for the visitors. Erith took the lead in controversial fashion when Kevin Spriggs headed home amid appeals that the ball had already gone out of play.

If there was a doubt over the first goal there was nothing wrong with the second as Steve White sent a neat flick beyond the stranded Tony Kessell.

Bognor produced a 13-minute purple patch to clinch a superb 4-2 win at Whyteleafe in Ryman division one.

They took the lead in the third minute when Matt Russell found Neil Scammell, who turned and finished well.

Scammell added a second before Peter Brackley's 13th minute cross was finished cleverly by new boy Nicky Wyatt.

Stuart Massey then scored twice for Leafe but Bognor killed the game in the 75th minute when Brackley cut inside the box and his cross was met by Russell, who rifled home.

An injury time goal from Matt Smart helped Horsham to a 2-1 home win over East Thurrock in division two.

The midfielder side-stepped visiting keeper Grant Lee to drag the ball home after Ryan Andrews had done well.

Dave Spittle's own goal had put them on terms.

Lewes fully deserved their 4-0 victory at Witham in division three. Goals came from Chris Dicker (penalty), Justin Harris (two) and Warren Bagnall.

Saltdean went top of the Rich City County League as Shaun Grice's treble helped them beat Lancing 5-1. Previous leaders Wick drew 1-1 at Pagham.
