I object to the recent trend of using Preston Park as an open-air summer venue for seemingly endless music events.

I do not want to spend pleasant weekend afternoons being subjected to the drone of thumping PA systems, the annoying chants of DJs and the screech of performing artists.

Why is Brighton and Hove Council so keen to provide and promote Preston Park as a music venue? It is located in a heavily populated residential area and is first and foremost a public park for outdoor recreation covering the shared needs of many.

Purpose-made music venues exist and are designed to stage music events with logistics to match. Why can these events not be staged at these venues?
