Sallie Quintan seems not to realise that the school crocodile is a Goldsmid Ward issue. Indeed, the parents campaigning for a crossing are from Goldsmid Ward and are having to cross the main A270 with their children in order to get them to school (the two local Hove schools in Goldsmid are full.)
I am chairman of governors at Somerhill School. The governors and parents have been campaigning for some time now to introduce safety measures in Somerhill Road, not only for the school children but also for residents. Unfortunately our campaign has been met with deafening silence and total lack of action from the council, despite a huge petition presented by the children.
I look forward to seeing Sallie joining the campaign to make the area in which we live safer for all.
