Darren Freeman is in the frame for an Albion comeback after clambering out of his sick bed.

The Seagulls' top scorer and goalkeeper Mark Walton return to contention for tomorrow's curtain closer against drop candidates Carlisle.

Manager Micky Adams has added them to the squad for the Withdean sell-out after they missed the last two matches. Walton has been troubled by a knee injury, while a combination of an inner ear infection and virus ruled Freeman out of the home draw against Peterborough and last Saturday's win at Shrewsbury.

"I have not been well at all," Freeman revealed. "I was laid up for a week and lost nearly a stone. I've just been in bed and on the loo most of the time. It was a horrible experience.

I still feel a bit below par, but I want to be involved. I'd love to play."

The squad includes half-a-dozen players Adams is releasing and possibly making their last appearances for the club. But Albion are eager to finish the season on a high note by extending their unbeaten run against a side embroiled in a desperate three-way battle to beat the drop.

"Regardless of who I am letting go they will go out and try their best for the club and themselves," Adams vowed. "We are 13 undefeated and we want to make it 14. We have gone two months without defeat, which is a great achievement and we don't owe Carlisle any favours.

"I am sure a few clubs up and down the country, particularly the southern based ones, might want them to go down, because of the journey. We owe it to Shrewsbury and Chester to be professional and we will be."

Carlisle need to emulate Leyton Orient, the last team to win at Withdean back in mid-January, to guarantee their safety, although bad results for either or both of their rivals for survival might rescue them.

Referee Paul Rejer has to control the teams with the worst disciplinary records in the Third Division. Carlisle top the bad boys table with 68 yellow cards and seven red, compared to Albion's 65 yellow and seven red.
