John Wilson, the Sussex County Union delegate, has gone up in the golfing world.

He has been elevated to the EGU national junior committee representing the South East (South) region covering Sussex, Kent and fringes of London.

John remains on the county committee, which is hardly surprising as his efforts on behalf of Sussex junior golf have been remarkable.

At the county annual meeting, he was presented with the Tony Jones Putter for his services to Sussex golf and a carriage clock was bunged in as well.

In the 15 years John has been Sussex junior team manager, including five ye

ars as organiser, Sussex reached three national finals. Winning two out of three (beating Yorkshire twice) raised the profile of Sussex golf. Last year Sussex reached the county finals with players who had come through the junior ranks.
