PROUD Tom Stimpson made a special trip to Buckingham Palace to be honoured by the Queen yesterday.
Tom, a Corporal with the Royal Air Force, was presented with his insignia after he was made an MBE in the New Year's Honours list.
His family proudly posed with him on the steps of the Queen Victoria Memorial opposite Buckingham Palace after the ceremony.
They had made the trip up from their family home in Crawley so that they could be with Tom on his big day.
