CHRIS ADAMS has vowed to get his England place back.

The Sussex skipper has been left out of the main England squads this winter, gaining a place instead in the Super-8s party.

Ans he admitted: "I'm a bit flat at the moment, but no-one has a God-given right to be picked for England.

"Whether I've been left out because I'm the easy option I don't know but I've got to do something about it and that means coming back and scoring more runs.

"I suppose if Neil Fairbrother can be picked at 34 then there's still hope, I'm only 28 so there is time.

"Playing in the Super-8s is still an honour but it's difficult to relate Max Cricket to the 50 overs game."

Adams intends to stay in Australia after the Super-8s and make England regret not picking him.

He is trying to tie up a deal to play for Canberra Comets in the Mercantile Credit one-day competition which takes place during the Ashes series after their original choice, Yorkshire all-rounder Craig White, had to pull out because of injury.

Adams added: "I've got to be realisitic, if I'm not going to Bangladesh then I'm not going to be involved in the one-day series in Australia in January. It's all over for me as far as England is concerned at the moment.

"But if the Canberra thing comes off it will be first-class, one-day cricket and there is no better place to be if England are looking for replacements during the winter."

Adams said he "hasn't come to terms" with being left out of the party to play in the week-long one-day tournament in Bangladesh in October.

His omission is even more of a surprise considering he played two limited overs internationals earlier in the season and is also part of the 37-man World Cup squad. He is also averaging nearly 50 in first-class cricket this season.

He regards playing in the Super-8s as little more than a consolation prize and is even more upset that no one has explained why he is not part of England's winter plans since the tour parties were announced.
