STRIKER Gary Hart scored a wonder goal to help Albion celebrate back-to-back League wins for the first time in nearly a year.

Yesterday's impressive 2-1 victory at Scarborough gave Brian Horton's men a maximum six-point haul over the Bank Holiday.

And it lifted the soaring Seagulls to tenth in the table, their highest position since beating Scarborough at home two years ago.

Stand-in skipper Jeff Minton and rookie marksman Hart scored the goals just as they had against Torquay two days earlier to secure Albion's first away win for 1998.

Hart had Horton drooling with a magnificent solo effort as he outstripped the Scarborough defence to put Albion two up.

"He took it like a veteran," said Horton. "It was the sort of finish you would expect from an experienced goal scorer like Ally McCoist."

Minton added: "Gary had brought a lot of pace and now he is starting to find the net as well."

He added: "It's a nice feeling. Let's hope we can take the form we have showed in the last two games into Saturday against Swansea."

Buoyant boss Horton said: "If we play like that we have got a chance of doing something this season.

"I'm delighted for the fans who made the long journey. It was a great performance and the lads deserve credit. They have thrown together two results now in three days.

"The thing is not to get carried away. It's great to get six points out of six over the holiday, but we will tone it down and get our heads right for Saturday."

Minton, who put Albion ahead with a stunning free-kick in the first half, said: "I've always thought we were not as bad as our early results suggested. If we can carry this on through the season I think we'll be somewhere near the top."
