MODEL Lucy Land is having her looks insured for £250,000 after becoming hooked on off-road racing.

When the 20-year-old, from Patcham, Brighton, is not parading in the latest swimwear and lingerie, she roughs it up in the mud on quad bikes and caged racers.

Her passion for the white-knuckle sport began when she did a photo shoot at the Ian Wright Organisation and Off-Road Driving School at Pickwell in Bolney, near Haywards Heath.

After taking a ride on the bikes at the 200-acre centre, she decided to spend her weekends wheel-spinning across fields.

Lucy, who is studying for a degree in English Literature at Roehampton University, said: "I really enjoy it.

"It can be quite dangerous, especially when you think how badly injured comic Rik Mayall was when he came off his quad bike at his farm. But I'm not worried about that sort of thing.

"I got into it doing a shoot for a brochure and that's when I realised

how much I enjoy it.

"I want to start taking part in races when I get more experienced. I'm already learning a lot because there are some great teachers up at Pickwell."

But her model agency, Hove-based Cyber Stars, always keep their fingers crossed that she comes back in one piece.

Cyber Stars manager Georgina Laverse, 24, was so worried Lucy might be injured, she arranged insurance to cover her looks.

She said: "We're slightly worried when she does and always pray she comes back in one piece.

"She's got the looks to go a long way. She can command £300-£400 a day and she's only just starting out. She's got the potential to earn a lot more."
