BROADCASTER Derek Jameson today said a World Cup booze ban around stadiums is the only way to stop further nights of violence in France.
Derek, who lives in Hove, was appalled by last night's scenes in Marseille as England hooligans clashed with rival supporters and French riot police.
He said: "I'm trying hard not to cry with rage and shame. Once again these mindless hooligans have besmirched the name of England and the England football team."
Former national newspaper editor Derek, 68, says alcohol should be banned from a five-mile radius outside World Cup stadiums.
He added: "Each and every one of them was drunk and local bars were selling alcohol until 4am."
