I live in West Hill Road where we have Parking wardens patrolling the roads virtually around the clock, booking everything and anything they can and usually only for minor residents' bay or timed bay infringements and occasionally for parking on a single-yellow line.

None of these "offences" cause an obstruction.

I work just off Western Road (near York Road). I cycle to work and, every morning, there is an almost continuous line of vans, cars and lorries parked on the double-yellow lines causing severe and dangerous obstruction to buses, cyclists and motorists. And there's never a parking attendant in sight.

Is Brighton and Hove City Council's and NCP's parking policy about

making easy money or keeping traffic moving and road users safe?

I know what most residents think.

Parking is a common complaint but I believe the current policy is bad

for the city - bad for tourism, bad for

residents and no help to road users.
