Sussex's new bowling star Rana Naved believes the county can challenge for a second Championship in three years.
The Pakistani had match figures of 7-74 on his debut as Sussex defeated first division leaders Kent by 66 runs at Canterbury and insists the only way is up for his new team-mates.
"Can we win the Championship?, Definitely," he said.
"The morale in the team after winning this match is very high and we feel we can challenge for the title again."
Although Sussex remain in the bottom three relegation places, just 20.5 points divides seven counties and Sussex have a game in hand on three of their rivals.
Rana and fellow Pakistani Mushtaq Ahmed shared eight second-innings wickets as Kent were bowled out for 119 yesterday, losing their last four wickets on the final day in 34 minutes.
Mushtaq, who finished with 4-58, is not surprised by the impact his compatriot has made.
He said: "Rana has got so much to offer. He has a lot of energy and aggression and he is full of passion for the game.
"He's got a natural talent and has been doing well for Pakistan so what he has achieved so far hasn't surprised me that much."
