Now the Olympics are coming to this country, it is time to say the King Alfred site should be about sport, not skyscrapers.
We need an Olympic-size swimming pool and world-class sports facilities instead of the downgraded excuse for a sports centre currently planned by the developers.
Give us back our waterslides, ten-pin bowling and bowls, which have already been lost from the site, and add sports facilities fit for a future generation of Olympians.
Come on, planners and developers - make a bigger splash.
