I would like to thank the couple who very kindly gave my mother and I a lift from Newhaven Harbour to Seaford on Friday, June 24, after we, and the other passengers, were unceremoniously ejected from a train.

The couple refused to take money for petrol and went out of their way to drop us at our door. This positively proves there are still some decent people about.

It's a shame the same can't be said of Southern, which continues to treat their mugs (sorry, passengers) in an utterly contemptible manner.

-MW Holder (Mr), Seaford
