Rail passengers using the northern section of the Thameslink Express to Watford Junction and the Midlands fear the moribund Strategic Rail Authority wishes to cut this service which avoids central London by going via Kensington Olympia.
This seems to be because of a rail bottleneck between Brighton and Three Bridges where there are only two tracks - four are needed if the Gatwick Express and Thameslink are both to run.
If Thameslinek is retained, it would link Brighton to the new Wembley Stadium.
