Lamb reared on one of the country's most popular landscapes is contributing towards efforts to maintain the area.
South Downs Lamb is being sold at butchers across Sussex with every piece of meat produced by breeds raised on the protected landscape.
South Down and Hampshire Down rams are used to breed the animals, with every lamb traceable to farms across the landscape stretching almost 400 square miles between Eastbourne and Chichester.
The meat is now available from butchers throughout the South-East, including Arundel Butchers in Arundel, BP Gurden, Chichester and Bramptons Limited, Brighton.
The project has been developed under the South Downs Landscape Enhancement Initiative.
Organisers claim the scheme will encourage flora and fauna, increase the amount of grassland and support the traditional ecosystems.
