I was pleased to read that crime on the seafront is now down, thanks to the drafting of extra police patrols (The Argus, July 30).

While this was good news, I wonder where these police were when the door of the Swimming Club was destroyed a couple of weeks ago.

Someone piled a heap of rubbish against the door and set fire to it. It must have been alight for several hours to burn right through the door. How come no one noticed?
