Andrew Gilbert from Newhaven was right to point out that two of the four officers on bikes in the photograph of police on the seafront (The Argus, July 30) were not wearing appropriate cycling helmets.
I would like to stress this was a staged photograph for the benefit of The Argus.
Mr Gilbert may rest assured, he will never see police officers riding without approved cycle helmets while on duty.
