There were several errors in the piece entitled "Pub security must improve" (The Argus, July 29).

It said my pub, The George, has applied for a licence to open until 1.30am from Sunday to Thursday and until 2am from Friday and Saturday.

However, we have applied to remain open until 12.30am from Sunday to Thursday and until 1am from Friday and Saturday.

It also said the police wanted CCTV to be installed at the pub but we have had CCTV since the pub opened six years ago.

The George is a popular pub, enjoying a good reputation with customers and the police.

The decision on whether the extra hours are granted is one for the local authority, however, it is important readers know the facts.
