(15, 93mins) Starring Simon Baker, John Leguizamo, Dennis Hopper, Asia Argento, Robert Joy, Eugene Clark and Jennifer Baxter. Directed by George A Romero.

He's back, the granddaddy of gore, the earl of entrails, the visionary of viscera - well, you get the picture.

George A Romero has returned with his zombie hordes after more than 20 years and the anticipation has fans slavering like his cannibalistic stars of Night, Dawn and Day Of The Dead.

In this fourth installment, entitled Land - because Late-Afternoon Of The Dead ain't quite as punchy - the world has been overrun by the shuffling carnivores and the last of mankind is holed up in a high-rise complex.

While the rich and powerful get to live it up in the top floors, the poor have to survive by any means. A system of supply and demand is set up, with the affluent getting the down-at-heel to venture into the wastelands with a shopping list.

However, social status is all for naught when the non-vegan bad guys mass together to storm the gates.

A hugely enjoyable throwback to the first three films, Romero expounds his views on society, government and mankind's imminent downfall, making for another satisfying installment of his patented horror with brains (and liver, heart and spleen).
