Like R Walker (Letters, September 27) I will be glad when the Labour Party conference is over and we can all return to some normality.
If the threat of terrorism is so high as to warrant this level of security, Brighton should not have hosted this conference. I think the city council has put money before the safety of its citizens.
Since Brighton and Hove attained city status, the devil incarnate has been unleashed upon us - especially car owners.
